I agree with Hutchinson. A single mother should not abandon her child if there is no one to care for it. I feel that theire should not be any criminal charges brought to her.
Spc. Alexis Hutchinson should not have any criminal charges against her, if she decided to deploy like the army told her, no one would be able to care for her child and she was not about to put her child in foster care. That is not what she wanted to do so she decided to stay behind with her child until she finds someone willing to care for her child. Hutchinson should have told the army about her situation and this whole thing would not be known of. I agree with her I would not leave my child behind with no one to care for him while I gone.
I think the army would have been wrong if they would have deployed her and put her child in foster care. She has no one to take care of him. She should not be charged with anything, she was just being a good mother.
I feel that Hutchinson should have went to the army and talk to them about her situation. On the other hand the army should be responsible enough to ask people if they have children and if they have someone to watch them rather than put them in foster care. Both parties in this situation are responsible for this problem
I agree with Hutchinson she shouldn't be able to force to force former marines to carry out missions when they have have children to take care of by themselves, but I believe that Hutchinson should've at least showed up to prove her claim.
I believe that she should have the right to stay behind. If she had no one to take care of her child, then that solely leaves her reliable. It's not as if her child was developed enough to where he could have taken care of himself. I believe that the government should pardon her from the fact that she couldn't leave to Afghanstan.
In my opinion, I think that the army are not giving a fair jugdement for the single mothers on the force. I also feel that the army did not look at the backgrounds of their soldiers such as their family life, their life, or even their disadvantages they may have in thewir life. I think that there should not be any criminal trials against her because she doesn't have any family members or close friends to care for her child. I agree with her deploying the flight to stay with her child, so that the child wouldn't be taken into child pertective custody.
i think that hutchinson wasnt wrong for what she did,she didnt want to leave son behind. she felt if she did that she would abandon her son. i dont think she should have any charges for not showing up cause its not her fault she didnt have anyone to take care of her son.that would be selfish if they would put her in jail for somethinhg like that.
I strongly agree with Hutchinson. There is no way I would leave my newborn child without someone to care for him. Hutchinson could have handled the situation better, but under the circumstances she paniced. She did what any loving and caring young mother would do. The Army should understand that her child is a bigger priority then risking her life for the country. If something were to happen to her, she would want to know that her child would be taken care of. I agree with Ms. Hutchinson's decison.
I agree with Hutchinson. As a single mother she had the right not to leave because there was no one to take care of her newborn child. In my opion the army should of under stood her circumstances of why she did not leave. I myself agree with Hutchinson decison
