http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us1968_airline_hijacking This article is interesting because the hijacker got arrested forty years later at the same airport he hijacked.Luis Armando Pena Soltren along with two accomplices used weapons hidden in a diaper to hijack the airplane in 1968. He was coming back from Havana Sunday was taken to taken into custody.

http://www.freep.com/article/20091012/ENT07/910120362/1035/ENT/T.I.-wins--Kanye-MIA-at-BET

I choose an article on the winners and no shows of the BET Hip-Hop Awards, that will air on BET on October 27. The incarcerated rapper T.I. won two awards, and Jay-Z was given the title of MVP of the Year and Drake Rookie of the Year at the ceremony held this pass Saturday in Atlanta, GA. West Coast rapper, Ice Cube was honored with the I Am Hip-Hop icon award. Missing In Action rapper Kanye West led the rap pack with nine nominations. It is believe that he is still receive bad publicity from the out-of-the-blue comment at the MTV Video Music Awards. Also it is believed that he was a no show because of the cancellation of his tour with pop-star Lady Gaga. The awards show was hosted by comedian Mike Epps.

I selected this article because I feel that it is easier for the students to comment on, other than the articles that we recieve on blogger on a daily basis.

The article that I read was "Ex-Mayor Awaits Trail fer Alleged Attempt Sex Tryst with Minor". This mayor was respected by the community and many other people. He had arranged to have sexual intercourse with a 14 year old girl who was really a FBI agent. These kind of things happen everyday, some older man trying to do something with or to a minor. But to have someone who you elect into office trying to have sex with a minor is just disgusting. This is way worst then Kwame Kilpatrick and what he has done to Detroit as a whole. This man has shamed his family and community both. Gary Becker( the ex-mayor) has a wife and children, so why is he acting out like this. Investigators had found explicit files of small children on Gary Becker's computer after trying to fix a problem on his computer. Therefore after they saw this on his computer allerted the authorities. I selected this article because so many people have these urges for small children but to think it would be the mayor of your community is surprising for so many reasons. One would be they represent you and I wouldn't want someone representing me who looked at children.

The article I chose is "Teen Turns in Mom for Allegedy Growing Pot". I chose this article because its controversial. A Rochester Hill teen turned her own mother in to the police. The reason was not stated, but there probably was a dispute between the two. Investigators found two drug plants, drug equipment, and a stem. The mother was released, however investigators are unsure of further actions.

the article that i read was about cancer, the topic was, meat eaters arent at more risk for brain cancer.the reason being that is because adults who eat a lot of meat may not have a huge risk of getting a brain tumor. For decades, researchers have thought that nitrosamines which are cancer promoting, are in certain foods,or are formed in people body and other chemicals we eat called sodium nitrites and nitrates, can cross from the blood to the brain which make u get brain cancer. the reason why i chose this topic was beacause my grandfather had past last year of brain cancer,he had a tumor on his brain, i felt people should do things to reduce cancer.

My newspaper article is about global warming. The subject is 1.4 electric car are part of UK green drive. The British have an ambitious policy to cut carbon dioxide to fight global warming. The British have created a plan to translate a low-economy, but they are still a step off to succeed in their plan. But the British is worried about having to build 1.7 million electric cars to comprehen national home insulation strageties. The progress on current carbon budgets didn't exactly meet the government commitee. The British are doing really well with continuing their ambition in stoping global warming. They are the only counrty in the world to have binding framework for getting CO2 emissions down.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/33095064/ns/technology_and_science-games/There has been controversy in the world of handheld electronics because of the newly introduced Sony PSPgo. The PSP(Playstation Portable) has gone through many changes since it first debuted in 2005, when the first PSP was introduced it was big and blocky but it greatly served its purpose. Two years later in 2007 the PSP 2000 series was introduced which was a slimmer sleeker version of the original PSP, then a year later the PSP 3000 series was introduced it was the final advancement of the original PSP system. The PSPgo system just hit the shelves this month and gamers have been wondering should they buy the new PSPgo or just stick with the psp 3000 series. The PSP 3000 is only $169.99 and it shares alot of the same functions as the PSPgo but the PSPgo is 50% smaller than the PSP 3000 and its a all digital media device which means you can no longer buy games and movies off store shelves, media for this system is bought only off the internet and the PSPgo is $249.99 which is a bit much for a system that isn't really different from it's predicessor.I picked this article because I'm a big fan of videogames and also because I already own the PSP 3000 sereis system.

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/us1968_airline_hijacking I read the article that Kiara read because it interest me. This man Pena Soltren has hijacked a plane in 1968. This plane was headed to Puerto Rico originally, but Soltren and his two accomplices had decided to hijack this plane. They had pleaded guilty and are now in jail. Soltren is pleading not guilty. His sole propose of comming back to this contry was to see his wife and other realatives. I think he should've thought about this before he had done his actions. I mean hijacking a plane with pistols and three knifes wasn't very smart especially when you thought you were going to get away with it. The United States government now believes that over 70 fugitives are in Cuba. Pena Soltren has proven even if you do crimes over 40 decades ago it will catch up to you regardless of the situation.

http://www.eonline.com/uberblog/b144243_obama_kanyes_jackass.html. I selected this article because it really interested me. It stood out that people wanted to get mad about the fact that the president had an opinion. Half of America called Kanye West the same name but when the Prsident did the same, people had some issues.

i feel that the 19 year old should have turn in her mother because i feel that what she was doing was illegal.the mother is old enough to know better.and the police found alot of other things, like shot guns and hand guns. the women should get some time in jail for that.cause its seems as if she was selling drugs out of their home.

I am reacting to the article Nijer chose about how the media reacted to President Obama winning the Nobel Peace Prize. As soon as Obama recieve the award, the reactions came in. Critics were wondering why did he get it, they believe that he have not donw enough to recieve the award. When others believe that him recieving this award is long overdue.

"Man held in 1968 hijacking pleads not guilty in NY"
I read Kiara's post. This aricle is interesting because a man committed a crime 40 yrs ago and he is being taken to trial. The man hijacked a plane and went to Cuba. four decades later, the man came bakc to America. There are many U.S fugitives who have escaped to Cuba. It is said that many are planning to come back under the new leadership of Obama. They think they may be able to live normal lives.

I really like the article that Kiara wrote about because it catches your attention. I mean who would ever think that the same hijacker would get caught 40 years later at the same airport. Then at the same time i believe that airpot would't have gotten hijacked if the security guards would have done a better job at checking the bag.

I just read the article that Audra posted. That was insanely ridiculous and in my opinion funny. It took the child to act like the parent in the household. Audra did a good job explaining why she picked this article and even pointed out some inportant facts.

I read Audra post this article to me was wrong. I feel it was wrong because a women was growing a marijuana plant in her family living room. I feel that the teenage girl did the right thing about calling the pollice. The mother is not in jail right now but the police is hoping to put her in custody.

I'm commenting on your post because as you said it is easier to comment on your post because it consists of elements that are well known to the youth, though I don't really take interest in events like the BET Hip Hop awards but I just want to say that kanye West from what I heard was out line .
