An Idea

A mathematics teacher out west got tired of the school he works at not having enough money to buy copy paper. He took charge of the problem by selling advertisements on his tests. An ad on a pop quiz costs $10.00, an ad on a chapter test cost $20.00, and an ad on a midterm or final exam costs $30.00. His midterm exam ads are sold out and the school has money to purchase copy paper. This gave me an idea about our keyboard and mouse problem in the computer lab. If I put Google Ad Sense on Blogger, we could raise the money for the needed computer equipment fast. Each time a student visits Blogger, all the student would need to do is click on the advertising. Each time an ad is clicked on, it is worth money. When the clicks total $100.00, I would get a check to cash and spend on needed equipment. What do you think about this type of advertising? Is it a good idea? What could happen to me as a teacher if I did this and the idea is unpopular with our administration (think higher than building level).

I believe that the type of advertising is ingenious. Its obvious to see that our computer lab is in dire need of improvement, and administration hasn't done anything to improve it.
This is why this form of adversting is good for schools. I say this because it is a quick and easy way to fix a problem we have had for almost 3 years. Although I feel it is a good idea administration would have mixed feelings about it. As long the profit is being used to better the school there shouldn't be a problem. Now if it is used for personal use then some type of consequence will be given.

believe that with an advirtisment like that it wouldnt work. for the simple fact that everyone doesnt like to access an advirtisement because nine times out of ten its a virus or something that will mess up your computer. thats just my opinon to this post.

I believe that the type of idea is great! Because if you want to do something but someone or something seems to be holding you back, you have the choice to either let it happen or do something about it. In this case, if you can raise money this way for the students (and yourself) then that would be the best idea. Because I think all of the ideas the schools are coming up with to raise money is ineffective. I believe this would be a very effective way to raise money.

I believe that sense it is for a good cause the school will not have a problem with this suggestion. It is a very good idea. We have to look at reality, we ned new mice and keyboards. This is the only way of going about it seeing as the school can not afford it, so do what you have to do. I support it 100%.

I completely agree with Ryan's post... We need better and more efficient computer equipment. So what if the adminstration gets mad or upset, if its for the school then they have absolutely nothing to say about it because they aren't doing anything to help the school out... I feel that this is a great idea and you should go along with this, as future leaders of this world we owe it to ourselves to have better computer equipment, better computers period. I for one feel that it is unfair that even though we are a low-budget school, Cherry Hill has better computers and up-to-date flat screen computers while our monitors look like they could break down any minute and every other computer works now, not even all of them!

I think That it is a bad idea, because if a person is advertising tests and quizzes and selling them that is just like cheating in some ways. Some of the things that could happen to a teacher if they were to advertise tests on a blog site is that they could get fired if they got caught. And teachers shouldn't advertise things on the web, because that's caused plagirism.

Yes i think this is a good idea and will work to raise the amount we need. I think this advertising is kind of sneaky and slick. Maybe because i dont understand well i dont know so hey.

I believe that this is an excellent idea for us to raise money for the computer lab. It is obvious that we do need new computer equipment, but you might also want to take into mind how long will the equipment last. It's obvious that some of our students don’t take care of property that is not their and will abuse the new equipment. I believe since the administration does not think were in a dieing need for it, we will have to take it into our own hands.

I would have to agree with Ryan. You can do anything in any way to make profit as long as it isn't in a scamming or lying way. Also, if you say you're making money for the school's benefit that's your own choice. If you're doing something outside of school to make money you can keep it for yourself, or you could give it to the school out of generosity; no one can stop you of what you do with your own money. So advertising online to make money is a great idea to make money, just put it to good use!

i believe that the idea is a great one! It is a very effective way to raise money. The only problem with the Ad, is to get some of your students to support you by clicking the ad. I feel that school officals would stand behind you 100% because of the simple fact that you are doing something to better the learning place.

I personally, think that this type of advertisement is a great idea. It would bring in a lot of revenue that is well needed at our school. I think that it could help many more causes as well. Being that the administration is not willing to compromise 90% of the time, I think that we will run into some hard times trying to get them to negotiate with this idea.

I agree with Ryan. It is very obvious that our computer lab is far from up to part. And as he said if the quick and easy profit is used to better the school, the school officials would not mind. but if the profit is used for something else then...........well i think you probably know the consequence of you action!

I think you should do it. Its a good and easy way to make money. Its not like your doing it to put in your own pocket, the money from this is going into our school getting new mice that we really need. So I say go for it, you may be able to convice the student council to let you do it.

I think its a good advertisement for the school. But it may be a bad thing to let other people know that the school is broke. Its a good idea because its making money. it is very easy to get the money also. You may get suspended or maybe lose your job. You should talk to an administrtor before actually make this move.

I agree with Kelby we need to tak this matter into owr own hands, cause the administration obivously tinks we don't need it, when we do.

I disagree with DJ. If you have enough supporters that everything will go okay. Not every advertisment carries viruses. You hyave to take cahances in order to accomplish anything in life. I'm sure that if the students understood what it was for they would be more than happy to support your decision.

I agree with Kelby. The reason administration doesn't want to get new equipment because they feel were are not in dire need of it. Also as Kelby says students will abuse the new equipments so what we have to do is find a solution to the problem.

I believe that is genious for someone to actually sit down and thinking about ways to make money and thats smart. I think that we (academy of inkster)need a advisor that think of ways to come up with money to help our school in anyway.
