Due to an emergency and testing, I will not be with you until Friday. Grades for new draft of papers will be posted soon. These were much better! Also, most of you did very well on the ACT practice test. Those students enrolled in the Cambridge program have already shown improvement from the pretest in the ELA area. We will be discussing both the ACT test and the portfolio Friday when I am back. Today, there is a blog assignment. This will count as your blog for the week plus 10 points for the responses. Please follow the directions. I am leaving a business memo assignment with the substitute during MEAP testing. These are due Friday, October 19th. Here is what need to be in your final portfolio (tentatively due November 1st):
Revisions of the following essays are needed. Include original drafts. The portfolio is worth up to 100 points (20 points for each work-if you are missing an assignment, you will be docked 20 points for that assignment). If revisions of essays are better than the original grade, students will earn high grade on essay.
1. ONE literary essay form the summer readings
2. Compare and contrast essay
3. Personal Narrative
4. Persuasive paper.
5. Business Memo
